The Corner sits at the junction of Thompson Avenue and the Cowes foreshore, and it has become the kind of place people instinctively head to when they arrive on Phillip Island. Part bar, part kitchen, entirely its own thing.
The bar is the heartbeat of the venue. The back wall is stacked with bottles. The cocktails are handcrafted, the pints are cold and reasonably priced, and the person behind the bar has a reputation that precedes them. The food is serious without taking itself too seriously, chargrilled Angus beef, pulled pork, brisket, poutine and thick shakes that hold their own against anything else on the island.
Good for groups, relaxed enough for a solo lunch, open from noon every day of the week. The kind of place that earns a return visit before the first one is finished.
